Ivoclar Liquid Strip TR is a clear, oxygen-impermeable glycerine gel designed for use in composite and ceramic dental restorations. It serves two main purposes: acting as a "try-in" paste and preventing the oxygen-inhibited layer during polymerization .
1. Try-In Paste
Applied to the internal surfaces of crowns, veneers, inlays, or onlays during test seating, Liquid Strip fills cement gaps and simulates shades and seating behavior. This helps you evaluate color accuracy and fit before final cementation.
2. Oxygen Inhibition Barrier
During light-curing, composites can form a soft, uncured surface layer (~50 µm thick) due to oxygen exposure. Liquid Strip blocks oxygen over restoration margins, ensuring thorough polymerization through its glycerine gel layer.
3. Protecting Ceramic Etching Patterns
It safeguards the etched surfaces of lab-fabricated ceramic restorations during try-in or cementation, helping preserve bonding efficacy.
